As the creator of CHICKIE BROWN, my aim is to design a cosmic soul inspired label adored by women of color. As is the case with many of my bewitchingly brown sisters, I have become increasingly disenchanted with mainstream media's "portrayal" of women of color – the sadly coveted token appearances of them on film, catwalks and pop-culture pedestals – as well as the historically HURTFUL attention given to even the slightest variation of skin tone. Equally disheartening are the myriads of mirrored reflections, past and present who have never been wonderstruck and whose spirits have been wilted by beauty's insulting whispers. – Hence the name CHICKIE BROWN.

My objective is to create uniquely styled concepts – each a love child of wit and sass- while alluringly depicting women of color.

My greatest aspiration is that CHICKIE BROWN will infuse unabated self-adoration in all "brown chicks" of EVERY insanely beautiful and delicate hue...
